Emergency Food Preparedness List
I have put together the items on this list over the past two years. I personally have dealt with shipping disruptions, shortages on the shelves, and now inflation. The items on this list are the main products I use to cook meals. They offer versatility and are shelf stable. I buy these items when they are on sale to save money and feel more prepared knowing I am stocked up and will have something to eat. My pantry is a 3-layer system. I keep the essentials I use every day in my kitchen in airtight glass jars. The extras are kept on metal storage shelves, so I can restock as necessary. I write the dates on the top of the canned goods so it's easier to put what needs to be used first at the front of the shelf. The last layer I have is for emergencies only and the food on this list has an even longer shelf-life and won't be opened unless it's a SHTF scenario. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it! I hope this list is a good starting point and makes you think about if you are prepared as it is your responsibility.
